seriously
I used to take Amtrak from NYC to Tampa, and at a time when I was making hardly any money at all I could afford the sleeper car. These days, I make a lot more coin than I did back then, but forget it, the sleeper cars are just stupid expensive.
I haven't tried them yet but I wanna look into BoltBus or some of those other cheap-o bus lines that started up in the last few years. I hear they're pretty cool, with free wi-fi, power plugs and such, and some $1 fares if you book far enough ahead.

Amtrak Tickets
Wow $16.00 and $29.00 One Way to PHL that was the good 'ol days when traveling on Amtrak didn't cost the passenger an arm and a leg. On a recent trip to visit my daughter
at Yale University I used Amtrak's Northeast Cooridor train which cost $70 (Roundtrip) for a 1 hour and 30 minute trip to and from NYP and NVH. The alternatives were to use
the Acela which was no faster between New York and Connecticut and was extremely expensive (About $150.00 roundtrip) and travelling by Metro-North which means I'd have to
drag my sorry ass from the Upper West Side 110th Street into the morning commuter traffic down to Grand Central Station, and given the fact that Metro-North makes a lot more
stops then Amtrak I'd be looking at a 45-60 minutes extra on my trip (No thank you!).
